Most of our members have enough props to share\, so all you need to bring is your willingness to try something new! \nWhat is Flow Arts? \nFlow arts is a general term used to describe the intersection of a variety of movement-based disciplines including dance\, juggling\, fire-spinning\, and object manipulation. The broad category flow arts includes a variety of pursuits that harmonize skill-based techniques with creative expression to achieve a state of present-moment awareness known as ‘flow’. \nCommon forms of flow arts include poi & staff spinning\, hula hoop (or “hooping”)\, juggling\, sphere manipulation (or “contact juggling”)\, and fan dance. Peer critiques are a great way for artists to seek advice from other artists on their own work as well as give advice to others. This helps strengthen your skills as an artist by giving you the chance to practice analyzing artwork from a different perspective. This event will be a casual conversation with some guided questions to help you get started – perfect for beginners\, art students\, and all skill levels.
