SUMMARY:$5 After 5 P.M. Josh Taylor\, Guitar
DESCRIPTION:Josh Taylor\, Guitar \n\n\n  \n\nSelection of Wine 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.\nLive Music: 6 p.m.\nMembers: Free | Non-members: $5\n\nJoin us for a relaxing Thursday evening at the Huntsville Museum of Art! Enjoy $5 admission from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.\, and explore the latest exhibitions or revisit your favorite pieces from our permanent collection. \nGuests aged 21+ can purchase a glass of wine selected by Church Street Wine Shoppe\, adding the perfect touch to your museum experience. \n  \nJosh Taylor: Guitarist\, composer\, and singer who cut his teeth in Nashville\, Tennessee before moving back to his hometown of Madison\, Alabama. He is an award-winning fingerstyle guitarist and took home the state champion title during the 2019 Athens Old Time Fiddler’s Convention Fingerstyle Guitar Competition and was the runner-up in 2021 with plans to reclaim his title in 2022. Josh is heavily influenced by the work of guitarists such as Tommy Emmanuel\, Jerry Reed\, Chet Atkins\, and Joe Robinson and his time spent studying these artists has yielded a sound that is reminiscent of his heroes while still providing his own modern twist. Josh is a member of the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society and through his time with them has played with and for some of the best guitarists in the world including the aforementioned Tommy Emmanuel. Taylor’s sound covers a wide range of genres and he is able to go from country to jazz to pop to classical and even to rock n’ roll seamlessly (and somehow being able to do it all on one acoustic guitar!). He is also an educator and teaches privately at Colors Fine Arts Center in Huntsville Alabama.

SUMMARY:Book Launch: Michelle Collins Anderson\, The Moonshine Women
DESCRIPTION:The Snail on the Wall is thrilled to celebrate the launch of Michelle Collins Anderson’s new novel\, The Moonshine Women\, a powerful tale of reinvention\, sisterhood\, revenge\, and love. Fans of Southern writers and historical fiction will love the chance to meet Michelle and learn about this Prohibition-era story. \nThis event is part of our weekly celebration leading up to Independent Bookstore Day (which will be Saturday\, April 25). Join us for all five events on all five days if you can! \nGet Tickets Here! \nThe event will be at The Snail on the Wall bookstore. Tickets are $18.95 and include a copy of The Moonshine Women. \nAbout The Moonshine Women:\nEvery batch of the Strong family’s moonshine has its own special flavor\, thanks to the secret ingredients that matriarch Lidy Strong adds to the barrels of fermenting corn mash. That extra “something something” is what makes the Strong “shine” so prized—and allows the family to survive after crop prices plummeted in the wake of the Great War. Each of the Strong sisters is distinct. The eldest\, Rebecca\, finds a new home in the love she discovers after a near-devastating accident. Middle sister Elsie is kind\, beautiful\, and itching for a life more thrilling than the farm can offer. And Jace\, the bold and wild-hearted youngest\, is known far and wide as “Shine.” Their father\, Hiram\, has been drowning himself in grief and liquor ever since his wife died. When tragedy strikes\, it falls to the Strong women to keep the still running\, the family together\, and hope burning on the horizon. \nAbout Michelle Collins Anderson:\nMichelle Collins Anderson was born in St. Louis\, Missouri\, and grew up on a farm in the Missouri Ozarks — a place and a way of life that has shaped her writing. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Journalism degree. In 2013\, she graduated with an MFA in Fiction from Warren Wilson College in Asheville\, North Carolina. Michelle lives in St. Louis\, Missouri.
