DESCRIPTION:Danny Davis and Tangled String Studios in historic Lowe Mill A&E welcomes Jim White to the spectacular listening room of Studio RR7! \nJim White’s a restless soul operating in a variety of artistic mediums. First discovered by David Byrne\, White’s quirky musical output spans a 30 year stretch\, garnering him critical darling status along the way. \nHis iconic duet with Aimee Mann on the song Static on the Radio appeared in the closing credits of the film El Camino\, while his Primus-esque romp Wordmule was featured in the pivotal Heisenger Episode of the  Breaking Bad TV series. \nWhite’s a published author as well. His debut novel\, Incidental Contact was described by Mojo Magazine as “unputdownable”. Skirmishes With the Lord\, his follow up publication\, is a collection of humorous essays detailing the making of the award winning BBC 4 documentary Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus\, which White starred in. \nHis visual art has been displayed both nationally and internationally\, including shows at The Douglas Hyde Gallery in Dublin Ireland\, Aarhus Festuge in Aarhus Denmark\, the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art\, in Winston-Salem and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans.  You can see his latest exhibit “Anything Can Be Redeemed” in the North Floor Gallery of Lowe Mill A&E. \nHis visual art output primarily centers around found object three dimensional assemblage constructions\, constituent parts culled from dumpsters\, flea markets and thrift stores around the US South. \nWhite’s themes\, be they in song\, written form or visual art\, primarily focus on the contradictions presented by life in the US South\, focusing in particular on southern religion and cultural institutions. \nWhite is the father of two grown daughters\, the eldest being rising country music star Willow Avalon.

If that isn’t enough\, it is also the final night of our exhibits currently on view in our 8 gallery spaces. The visiting artists are in attendance and available to interact with the public and discuss their artwork while it is on display in the gallery spaces. SUMMARY:Rama Kumaran Solo Concert
DESCRIPTION:Rama Kumaran is a multiflutist in Nashville\, TN. He has played the official recordings of Herman Beeftink’s flute music for the last 10 years. As a teenager\, he was the youngest winner of the National Flute Association’s Young Artist Competition\, later completing his Bachelors at Vanderbilt University and his Masters in classical and early music at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Rama plays piccolo in the Jackson Symphony in west Tennessee\, and as a Nashville recording artist he plays orchestral and folk flutes on the soundtracks of movies\, video games\, and theme park attractions. He has the heart of a gamer\, so when he’s not practicing or reading\, he’s watching his favorite streamers or leveling up his characters in Honkai: Star Rail. \nRama plays a Muramatsu 9K custom concert flute and a Hammig cocuswood piccolo. \nThis is a FREE performance.

These musical life partners take their name from the wild rabbits that once roamed Chatham County\, North Carolina. More than a century ago\, rabbits were considered a prized cash crop\, drawing hunters and traders from across the region. Many years later\, the duo found themselves in Bynum\, North Carolina\, living in a historic mill house along the Haw River. That home once belonged to a mill family whose patriarch played in the mill-sponsored string band also called The Chatham Rabbits. Carrying that legacy forward\, the husband-and-wife team now share life and music as the modern-day Chatham Rabbits. \nThey are passionate about writing new songs\, creating concerts that lift spirits\, and building genuine community. Rooted in their North Carolina home\, they balance their love of music with simple joys—Cookout milkshakes\, the wit of David Sedaris\, fly fishing\, horseback rides\, arrowhead hunting\, and long\, thoughtful conversations.
