DESCRIPTION:Learn Irish and Scots ceili dances in a casual\, relaxed setting. No high kicks\, leaps\, or hard shoes required\, just a desire to have fun dancing ceili party dances. Be ready to join in the sets for St. Patrick’s Day or Burns Night or any other time there’s celtic music available to dance to. \nThe goal of this class is to teach you the basics of Irish and Scots ceili dances\, along with some of the more widely known dances. \nWhile we probably can’t cover dances from all seven Celtic Nations\, we’ll do our best to present a wide selection of celtic dance and have a good time dancing it. No previous experience or partners required. Learn everything you ever wanted to know about celtic dance but were afraid to ask. \nSaturdays from 4:30pm-5:30pm. \n$15/$10 students. We will have some brief announcements\, then go for a flat and easy 1 mile hike along the Driskell and Moonshine Trails. At this point\, for hikers who want to get 3 more challenging miles\, we can continue hiking to the Bulldog Trail. \nThe 100 Alabama Miles Challenge encourages all Alabamians to get outside and walk\, run\, hike\, bike\, swim\, paddle\, ride\, or roll with family and friends for 100 miles each year. While people can participate at home\, in their neighborhood\, or at their favorite gym\, the program encourages participants to get their miles in by visiting Alabama’s beautiful parks\, nature preserves\, and rivers. \nSign up here: SignUp \nIn addition to this SignUp\, please register for the challenge at www.100alabamamiles.org. \nLocation: Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve\, 1263 U.S Hwy 72 East\, Huntsville\, AL 35811 \nDirections: Coming from Huntsville\, cross Chapman Mountain and u-turn at Moores Mill Road. When safe\, get into the merge lane on the right (plenty of time). When the silver guard rail ends\, be ready to turn right onto the paved entrance. Drive through the gate and down the gravel road to the parking area at the bottom of the hill. \nIn the event this hike has to be canceled due to weather or trail conditions\, we will send a notification to the email address you use to register. If the event is canceled\, we will schedule another kick-off hike. We will email participants who have signed up and also create another event on our calendar.

All donations received are utilized at CCCNP for maintenance purposes. Don’t forget your camp chair or blanket for seating. \n  \n\n\n\n\nEvent Schedule\n____________________________________\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYoga: 9:30 – 10 AM\n\n\n\nStart the morning off with a relaxing yoga session. \n\n\n\nUpper Loop Hike: 10:00 – 11:30 AM\n(Difficult: Easy to moderate- approximately 2 miles)\n\nTake a guided hike to Lacefield Falls\, Lacefield Point\, and Canyon Rim Trail. Hike Leader: Patrick Shremshock and S. Dollar. Hikers are required to sign a waiver to participate. \n\n\n\nMusic: 11:30 AM\n\nMusic by The Cliftones! Bring a blanket or camp chair and enjoy the sweet music of the Cliftones. \n\n\n\nLunch: 12:00 PM\n\nCCCNP Advisory Board will provide hotdogs\, condiments\, chips\, fruit\, drinks. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCritters in the Creek: 1:00 PM\n(Difficulty: Easy – less than 1 mile)\nThis event will include sampling and identification of the macroinvertebrates that inhabit Waterfall Creek. Participants are encouraged to wear water shoes. This is a hands-on activity for the whole family. Event Leader: Kara Million. Hikers are required to sign a waiver to participate.\n\n\nWildflower Hike: 2:00 – 3:30 PM\n(Difficulty: Easy to moderate – approximately. 2 miles)\nHikers will be engaged in this hike through their guided exploration of the wildflowers in full bloom. Hikers are encouraged to take as many pictures as they wish but no picking\, please! This hike will start off above the canyon before making our way to the Boulder Garden area. We will conclude by hiking back out of the canyon at a leisurely pace. Hikers are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle and a hiking stick. Hike Leader: Patrick Shremshock and S. Dollar. Hikers are required to sign a waiver to participate.\n\nArchery 101 & Tournament: 3:30 – 4:30 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin the archery instructor to learn how to properly and safely use archery equipment. All participants MUST be at least 10 years or older. Younger aged children may not be able to draw back the bow safely. Archers are required to sign a waiver to participate and are expected to follow the instruction of the instructor and adhere to the standards of safety.
