SUMMARY:Teen Homeschool Hike at Hickory Cove
DESCRIPTION:(Moderate / about 2 hours / around 2 miles) \nJoin us for our monthly Teen Homeschool Hike! \nWe will hike Hickory Cove Nature Preserve’s Legacy Loop which starts at the City of Huntsville’s Trailhead Greenway near the spring house. The trail leads you up and down the mountain through the forest\, and finishes up further down the greenway. This trail is listed as moderate difficulty due to elevation change and rocky terrain. \nThis hike is for teens\, ages 12–17. A parent or guardian must accompany each teen to the preserve\, and we ask that younger siblings not attend. Parents and guardians don’t have to hike. We ask that younger siblings not attend. Be sure to wear hiking shoes\, bring layers and a snack and water. We will stop along the trail for nature journaling and taking photos\, so bring your favorite art supplies. We may also enter interesting finds into iNaturalist for identification. \nMeeting Location: Trailhead Greenway Parking – 1500 Trailhead Main St\, Huntsville\, AL 35811 \nComing from Huntsville\, head east on Highway 72. At the intersection of Highway 72 and Moores Mill Road\, turn right into the Trailhead community.Then turn right onto Trailhead Main Street.
