DESCRIPTION:Help prepare for a bridge build by hauling steel beams and lumber to the site where Watts Trail crosses Fagan Creek. This work will be strengous and involve hiking to and from the trail entrance while carry lumber. Great full body workout! \nBug spray\, sunscreen\, work gloves\, eye protection\, and water recommended. Complete a separate registration for each individual participating (each person must sign a waiver). Guardians may sign up on behalf of minors. Registration Required. \nDue to safety concerns\, all volunteers must be at least 12 years old to participate. Participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian. The Land Trust is committed to the inclusion of all qualified volunteers including those with a disability. However\, not all natural work environments are accessible. He was handpicked by Bill Burr to perform on Comedy Central’s stand up series\, The Ringers. Ron performs in festivals and clubs all over the world\, including hosting Blake Griffin’s Charity Comedy Show in Los Angeles and Russell Westbrook’s Charity Comedy show in Oklahoma City. He is a paid regular at the world famous Comedy Store in Hollywood. Most recently he appeared in the FX series “Oh Jerome\, No” directed by Alex Karpovsky.

DESCRIPTION:From the Saunter leader\, Lynne Weninegar:   \n\nThese walks are planned especially for those Land Trust Members who are nature lovers and at least 60 years old (or feel our age) who just want to relax and enjoy a slow pace while experiencing nature at its best.  Please come prepared for nature’s little “distractions – ants\, ticks\, other “bugs”\, and the heat”. You will need insect repellent\, snacks\, closed-toed shoes (preferably hiking boots)\, water\, sunscreen and maybe a walking stick if you need extra confidence! Non-members are welcome for their first hike with us\, but are asked to become members of the Land Trust of North Alabama prior to attending a second hike. We love providing fun for everyone on our Preserves. A membership offers you many other opportunities\, as well as provides the Land Trust the ability to continue preserving land in North Alabama! We look forward to seeing you for this year’s Senior Saunters! \n\nJoin us for a Bioblitz at Chapman Mt. and spend some time at the Bird Blind Feature and the newest birding feature just recently installed at the Preserve. If you have never participated in a Bioblitz\, this is an opportunity to “get your feet wet” and let’s see how many species of “all things living at Chapman” we can locate and document. Be sure your iNaturalist app is installed prior to coming to the event. You will enjoy using iNaturalist! Lynne will assist you if you need help! Lots of birds\, butterflies\, moths\, mammals\, lizards\, frogs\, and yes\, maybe even a snake or two to see at this event! This app is one you will be sure to use when you get back home!
