This hike will give us the opportunity to get out and see the upper elevations of the preserve. We’ll start by heading south from the pavilion on the Moonshine Trail. We’ll take the Whole Planet Trail to the Terry Trail for a walk up the hill. A loop on the Bulldog trail will bring the group around to catch the Terry Trail back down to the pavilion. \nSign up \nIn the event this hike has to be canceled due to weather\, we will send a notification to the email address you used to register. \nLocation: The Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve\, 1263 U.S Hwy 72 East\, Huntsville\, AL 35811 (Directions: Coming from Huntsville\, cross Chapman Mountain on Hwy 72 and U-turn at Moores Mill Road. Be ready to join in the sets for St. Patrick’s Day or Burns Night or any other time there’s celtic music available to dance to. \nThe goal of this class is to teach you the basics of Irish and Scots ceili dances\, along with some of the more widely known dances. \nWhile we probably can’t cover dances from all seven Celtic Nations\, we’ll do our best to present a wide selection of celtic dance and have a good time dancing it. DESCRIPTION:Help prepare for a bridge build by hauling steel beams and lumber to the site where Watts Trail crosses Fagan Creek. This work will be strengous and involve hiking to and from the trail entrance while carry lumber. Great full body workout! \nBug spray\, sunscreen\, work gloves\, eye protection\, and water recommended. Complete a separate registration for each individual participating (each person must sign a waiver). Guardians may sign up on behalf of minors. Registration Required. \nDue to safety concerns\, all volunteers must be at least 12 years old to participate. Participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian. The Land Trust is committed to the inclusion of all qualified volunteers including those with a disability. However\, not all natural work environments are accessible.
