Each month a different genre\, and performance entertainment experience. \n  \nSept 27th Is Hip-Hop artist Dizzy D (Huntsville\, Harvest Al) Featuring The R&B Vibes Live band & DJ Sizahanz. \n  \nDizzy D is a rapper and producer\, hailing from Huntsville\, AL. His journey into the music industry began after forming the hip hop duo Betta Half in 2006. The group achieved critical success with released hits such as Tha Untold (2007) and AWOL (2009)\, which produced singles\, “Flickin” and “Cruisen”. Putting in much hard work and diligence\, Dizzy released his first album Elevation in 2011 and made a name for himself in the underground rap community. \n  \nIn 2015\, he collaborated with renowned artist\, Pastor Troy on the track “Burn It Down” which took aim at police brutality and racial injustice. The song was featured on his album\, Pine Grove and was released on Mishka Records\, a popular streetwear company and record label based in New York City. DESCRIPTION:Please join us in the North Floor Gallery for an exciting event in conjunction with the outsider art exhibition “Anything Can Be Redeemed” by Jim White\, accompanied by an artist talk about the work\,  spoken word reading from his latest book and acoustic musical performance in the gallery space.  This will be a wonderful experience you won’t want to miss out on! \n  \nAbout the artist: \nJim White’s a restless soul operating in a variety of artistic mediums. First discovered by David Byrne\, White’s quirky musical output spans a 30 year stretch\, garnering him critical darling status along the way. \nHis iconic duet with Aimee Mann on the song Static on the Radio appeared in the closing credits of the film El Camino\, while his Primus-esque romp Wordmule was featured in the pivotal Heisenger Episode of the  Breaking Bad TV series. \nWhite’s a published author as well. His debut novel\, Incidental Contact was described by Mojo Magazine as “unputdownable”. Skirmishes With the Lord\, his follow up publication\, is a collection of humorous essays detailing the making of the award winning BBC 4 documentary Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus\, which White starred in. \nHis visual art has been displayed both nationally and internationally\, including shows at The Douglas Hyde Gallery in Dublin Ireland\, Aarhus Festuge in Aarhus Denmark\, the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art\, in Winston-Salem and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans. \nHis visual art output primarily centers around found object three dimensional assemblage constructions\, constituent parts culled from dumpsters\, flea markets and thrift stores around the US South. \nWhite’s themes\, be they in song\, written form or visual art\, primarily focus on the contradictions presented by life in the US South\, focusing in particular on southern religion and cultural institutions. \nWhite is the father of two grown daughters\, the eldest being rising country music star Willow Avalon.

DESCRIPTION:The Valley Conservatory Early Music Festival (VCEMF) was started in 2013 to expose the community to early music and period instruments by providing lectures\, master classes and concerts. It is the only early music festival in the southeast region of the country and is an annual event that is held in September. This year’s festival concert will take place Sunday\, September 28\, 4:00pm at Trinity Baptist Church located at 1088 Hughes Road in Madison.  \nThe concert will feature the launch of the Valley Conservatory Baroque Orchestra performing Telemann’s Sonata in D Major TWV 44:1\, with soloist Peter Lott\, Trumpet and Telemann’s Concerto for 2 Oboes and Bassoon TWV 53:C1\, with soloist Jared Hauser\, Oboe\, Lara Lay\, Oboe and Sue Dura\, Bassoon.  \nThe concert also features the VCEM Festival Artists\, and the Madison Early Music Project. Other performances include works by Scarlatti and Johnson.  The concert is open to the public and encourages dialog between artists and audience.  Additional information is available at valleyconservatory.com or by calling 256-534-3131.
