Ann’s work has recently been selected as a finalist in the Art Renewal Center\, been featured in several Oil Painters of America exhibits. She has been awarded by the National Acrylic & Oil Painters Society and Portrait Society of America. \nIn 2015\, Ann partnered with two other artists to help co-found Protege Atelier\, where she paints\, teaches\, and assists in bringing master artist workshops to Huntsville. Steverson is also the inventor and founder of Venus Copper Panels\, now known as Artefex Copper Panels\, the first CCM (copper composite material) artist panel. \nA native of Madison\, Alabama\, Ann began painting in oils at the University of Montevallo in 1999. She graduated in 2002 from the University of Alabama in Huntsville\, completing a B.A. with a Fine Arts Concentration. Ann then acquired a Master of Art Education from Alabama A&M University in Normal\, Alabama. \nAnn exhibits her work nationally and internationally and soon will have several of her works included in the Peregrine Collection\, via which they will be archived on the moon. \nAnn Moeller has been painting for over 20 years\, and she’s excited to share her knowledge with students of all levels.

DESCRIPTION:This class welcomes artists of all skill levels\, from beginners to advanced. It is designed to help you build strong foundational skills while offering individualized critiques to support your artistic growth. Through a combination of guided practice\, live demonstrations\, and personalized feedback\, you’ll gain the confidence to capture the likeness of a live model. \nWhat Students Will Learn: \n\nHow to accurately measure and establish proportions when working from life.\nTechniques for creating form and volume using values and light.\nPersonalized guidance tailored to help you achieve your specific artistic goals.\n\nFlexible Scheduling\n\n\n\nChoose the days that work with your schedule and whether you’d like instructed or not instructed.\nInstructed Sessions are every other Wednesday\, Wednesday’s in between are non-instructed for your practice.\nWe’ll have 1 model per month to enable you to render a fully complete image or get lots of practice.\nFees include the model’s fee.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances and you’ll be provided a class credit in the event there is a need to cancel the class. \nIn the event that no one has signed up the morning of the event\, the event will be canceled.\n\n\n\n\n\n—————————— \nFor Instructed Agenda\, Ann typically follows:\n\n30 minute demo\nSketch/Paint\nCritique time\n\nFor Non-Instructed  Agenda the staff will:\n\nSet the timer for 3\, 90 second minute gesture drawings to warm up.\nSet the timer for long pose for 5 -7 minutes at a time to give the model breaks.\n\n—————————— \nWhat To Bring to the Portrait/Figure Drawing Session:\n\nWhat to Bring: Your preferred art supplies.  Ann will be working in charcoal and may move to oils.\nWhat’s Provided: Live clothed model with themed setups\, easels\, tables\nCost:  $25 or $56\, depending on the instructed or non-instructed option.  Includes the model and instructor fee.  (Tipping is encouraged)\nWho’s Welcome: Artists of all skill levels and mediums\n\nRecommended Supplies:\nSupplies can be gathered from Huntsville Art Supplies.  Feel free to grab what you need based on Ann’s list here.  \nInstructor Biography\n\nAnn Moeller Steverson is an oil painter known for her mood-filled figures\, portraits\, and still life’s. Her contemporary work bridges classical beauty with the modern painting practices of today. She has been awarded the honor of the Bold Brush Award\, a distinction an artist may achieve only once in their lifetime. Ann’s work has recently been selected as a finalist in the Art Renewal Center\, been featured in several Oil Painters of America exhibits. She has been awarded by the National Acrylic & Oil Painters Society and Portrait Society of America. \nIn 2015\, Ann partnered with two other artists to help co-found Protege Atelier\, where she paints\, teaches\, and assists in bringing master artist workshops to Huntsville. Steverson is also the inventor and founder of Venus Copper Panels\, now known as Artefex Copper Panels\, the first CCM (copper composite material) artist panel. \nA native of Madison\, Alabama\, Ann began painting in oils at the University of Montevallo in 1999. She graduated in 2002 from the University of Alabama in Huntsville\, completing a B.A. with a Fine Arts Concentration. Ann then acquired a Master of Art Education from Alabama A&M University in Normal\, Alabama. \nAnn exhibits her work nationally and internationally and soon will have several of her works included in the Peregrine Collection\, via which they will be archived on the moon. \nAnn Moeller has been painting for over 20 years\, and she’s excited to share her knowledge with students of all levels.
