
Happy Women’s Month, Huntsville—it’s time to celebrate female Huntsville natives who have become successful in their industries.
Today, we will be highlighting some hometown Hunstvillians who are now famous actresses. Lights, cameras, action—let’s get into it!
1. Felicia Day

Felicia Day was born on June 28, 1979 in Huntsville, Alabama. She primarily appears on TV shows and web video productions.
She has starred in Supernatural (2005), Eureka (2006), The Guild (2007) and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog (2008).
2. Kim Dickens

Kim Dickens was born in Huntsville on June 18, 1965. She has since gone on to play the lead role in many productions.
She was the leading actress in Truth or Consequences, N.M. (1997), Zero Effect (1998) and Mercury Rising (1998). She has also appeared in The Blind Side (2009), Gone Girl (2014), Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (2016), Lizzie (2018), Land (2021) and more.
3. Debby Ryan

Debby Ryan was born in Huntsville on May 13, 1993. Her family moved to Texas when she was a small child, but we still claim her as a native Huntsville actress.
She is famous for appearing in Private Practice (2007), Jessie (2011), Girl Meets World (2014), Insatiable (2018) and more.
4. Julia Campbell

Julia Campbell is the daughter of a model mother and an army officer father. She was born in Huntsville on March 12, 1963.
Although she has made appearances in Seinfeld, Friends, House, The Mentalist and The Practice, she is most known for her role as Christie Masters in Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.
5. Tallulah Bankhead

Tallulah Bankhead was born on January 31, 1902 in Huntsville. Her father was a prominent member of the Democratic Party who served as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.
She was famous for her eccentric personality and roles in Lifeboat (1944), A Royal Scandal (1945), Die! Die! My Darling! (1965), Faithless (1932) and more.
