Forage & Steep: A Teen Tea Party

Discover the fascinating world of edible plants during an afternoon of tea, treats, and hands-on learning designed just for teens ages 13-17!

Join a horticulture expert for a guided walk through the Huntsville Botanical Garden, where you’ll explore plants traditionally used to create flavorful herbal teas and learn the basics of responsible, sustainable foraging.

After the walk, head indoors to create your own custom herbal tea blend and enjoy a hands-on tea party experience. Decorate floral cookies, build fresh fruit and cheese skewers, and sip the tea you crafted yourself.

Whether you’re interested in plants, enjoy getting creative in the kitchen, or simply want a fun afternoon with friends, this unique program brings together nature, STEM, creativity, and delicious food for an unforgettable experience.

Program Details

Check-In: Participants should meet in the Propst Guest Center atrium (See Garden Map) at the start of the program.

Foraging Walk: The experience begins with a guided Garden walk led by horticulture experts. Participants will explore plants traditionally used in herbal teas and learn about responsible and sustainable foraging.

Tea Party: Following the walk, participants will return to the guest center Hospitality Suite to create their custom herbal tea blends, decorate floral cookies, assemble fruit and cheese skewers, and enjoy a tea party together.

Pick-Up: Parents and guardians should pick up participants at 5:00 p.m. in the Propst Guest Center atrium.
