SUMMARY:Cane Creek Devil’s Hollow Fundraiser Hike
DESCRIPTION:(Difficult/ around 8 miles/around 4-5 hours) Hikers will join Cane Creek Advisory committee members Joseph Rickard and Patrick Shremshock on a hike to Cane Creek’s Devil’s Hollow. This hike will be moderate to high difficulty due to the distance of the hike. The round trip will be approximately 8 miles. Participants are asked to bring a lunch and a full water bottle (there are refilling stations along the way)\, as we will be stopping to eat lunch at the hollow and explore the bluffs. With the leaves falling from the trees\, Devil’s Hollow is a sight worth seeing! We will also explore several waterfalls\, so bring a camera or phone. \nDonations are requested to attend but are not requried. Donations can be made on the Land Trust of North Alabama website (landtrustnal.org/cane-creek-preserve) or cash donations can be accepted in the donation box onsite. \nRegister \nLocation: Cane Creek Canyon Nature Preserve \nIn the event that weather or trail conditions require us to cancel this hike\, a message will be sent to the email address you use to register.

This overnight outdoor experience offers families the chance to learn backpacking basics while exploring one of North Alabama’s most beautiful preserved landscapes. \nLed by Patrick Shremshock\, an outdoor educator with over 30 years of experience\, this hands-on weekend adventure will cover essential backpacking skills\, camp cooking\, fire building\, Leave No Trace principles\, and more — all while supporting the preservation of Cane Creek Canyon. \n\nRegistration Required\nDonation Requirement:\nTo participate\, families must make a $100 donation to Cane Creek Canyon Nature Preserve. \nWho Can Register: \n\nLimited to five (5) families (up to 4 members per family)\nParticipants must be physically able to:\n\nCarry a 25-40 lb. backpack\nHike at least 6 miles\nManage a 350 ft. elevation change\n\n\nAll participants must follow Leave No Trace principles.\nParents must supervise children\, especially during meal prep and camp activities.\n\nRegister early to secure your spot.
