SUMMARY:Forest Friends at Chapman Mountain
DESCRIPTION:Families with young children (ages 3 to 5 years) are invited to attend these nature discovery events designed to inspire a sense of wonder about the natural world. Through the sharing of stories\, songs\, and art\, each playful exploration engages both adults and children as we make new discoveries about the plants and animals in this beautiful forest habitat. Because we believe that we protect the places that we love\, we hope to inspire young children to feel a friendly\, respectful connection to nature – forming a foundation for curiosity and enjoyment to last a lifetime. Families are welcome to stay after the event to enjoy a picnic from home. \nForest Friends is designed with activities for older toddlers and preschoolers (ages 3 to 5 years) to enjoy\, but younger siblings are welcome! \n\nCost: FREE but membership to support our mission is very much appreciated.\nReservations: Reservations are required. Space is limited. Please register using parent/guardian’s information and reserve one spot per family (not per child). There are no waitlists for these events. If spaces become available\, registration will reopen so please check back if you’re interested in attending.\nAges: 3 – 5 years. An accompanying adult is required for all programs.\nWhat to Bring: Closed toe shoes are required. When safe\, get into the merge lane on the right (plenty of time). When the silver guard rail ends\, be ready to turn right onto the paved entrance. SUMMARY:Hump Day Hike at Chapman Mountain Nature Preserves
DESCRIPTION:(Moderate/ 2 hours/ 3-3.5 miles) Join us for a midweek hike at the Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve located just to the east of Huntsville on HWY 72. This hike will start with an easy walk on the Moonshine Trail. There will be a brief climb up the  Whole Plant Trail followed by a stroll along the Terry Trail then a loop along the beautiful Bulldog Trail.
