DESCRIPTION:Plants of Alabama – \nJoin us at  Monte Sano Nature Preserve\, Bankhead Trailhead\, to learn about plants you can find in Alabama. We will learn about invasive plants\, why they are here\, how they spread\, and how you can help. We will meet at the pavilion and then go on a hike led by Naturalist Lauren Peterson to see what plants we can spot. \nCost: FREE but only available for Land Trust members at the Trailblazer (Family) level or above. \nReservations: Land Trust members at the Trailblazer (Family) level or above only. Reservations are required. Space is limited. Please register using parent/guardian’s information (name on your Land Trust membership) and select spots for the number of children only. Adults do not need to reserve a spot for themselves. Registered participants will receive an email with full details closer to the event. There are no waitlists for these events. If spaces become available\, registration will reopen so please check back if you’re interested in attending. \nAges: 6-12 years. Topics for this week-long day camp at Monte Sano Nature Preserve will include water critters\, fossils\, being nature detectives\, map reading\, animal adaptations\, tracks\, scat\, the magic of trees\, and more! Along with our exploration\, we’ll include puzzles\, crafts\, games\, and lots of splashing in Fagan Creek. \n  \nCamp Details\nCamp Dates and Times: \n**Please note\, hours have changed for 2026.** \n\nJune 9-13 for ages 6-8. Drop off is at 9:00AM\, and pick up is at 3:00PM\nJune 16-20 for ages 8-11.
