SUMMARY:Beginner Block Printing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Have you wanted to try printmaking but thought it was intimidating or taken an art class in high school where you carved a block and want to get back into it? Do you have absolutely no clue what block printing even is? Everyone is welcome! This (IN-PERSON) class is intended to be a very bare-bones\, basic intro to block printing with linoleum. The fee includes the paper\, ink\, and tools you will need to be able to create a 4×6” carving to print by hand on 5×7” assorted papers. This workshop covers what you need to learn to print at home with minimal tools in order to make basic printmaking accessible without the use of a printing press. We will cover tearing paper to size\, transferring your image to your block\, carving\, inking\, printing\, numbering prints\, and cleanup. Your carving tools and brayer are included in your fee\, and you will be able to take them home with you at the end of the workshop with information on where to get additional supplies and a zine covering the basics learned in the workshop as a reminder for those who choose to continue printing. This class forms the basis you will need if you would like to continue with more advanced future workshops that I will be planning. \nYou will receive an email beforehand with additional information leading up to the workshop date. Adults 18+ only for this one at this time. \nClass is Thursday May 14 \nRegistration for this class ends May 1
