Spring is on its way, and the weather will soon be a warm enough to enjoy a scenic picnic at one of these Huntsville spots:

Pro tip: If you don’t feel like whipping up a spread yourself, grab some picnic fare from Dallas Mill Deli or Hound and Harvest.

2. Visit local Huntsville distilleries

If you and your partner are spirit connoisseurs (or want to get into the craft), consider visiting Huntsville’s distilleries:

  • Black Patch Distilling Co.: Come taste “the working class whiskey” for yourself.
  • Guajana Rum: As the name suggests, rum is king here. They also offer hand-crafted vodka.
  • Irons ONE: Located in Lowe Mill, Irons ONE is for the whiskey and bourbon fans out there.
  • Old Black Bear Brewing Company: In addition to their fantastic brews, Old Black Bear also distills their own vodka, rum, whiskey and moonshine. My favorite is the blackberry mule made with house vodka.
  • Yellowhammer Brewing: Mix up your date night brewery visit by trying Yellowhammer’s rum, vodka, whiskey or unique Rebellion 95 Spirit.

3. Hit up an arcade

We’re so fortunate to live in a city that has three professional—and one new semi-professional—sports teams! Next time you and your partner are ready to get your game on, support these local teams:

7. Visit several Huntsville museums in one day

One of the best ways to strengthen your relationship with your partner is through intentional conversation, and a great way to start those conversations is to learn together. Here are some local museums where you can do just that:

Pro tip for creating intriguing conversations: During your museum walkthrough, you each pick three things you’d want to learn more about.

After your visit, present the three items to each other. Then, decide on the two most interesting topics and, together, research them further.

One of my favorite trends I’ve seen on social media lately is going to a thrift store with your partner and picking out an outfit for one another to wear during the date.

It’s a great way to get to know each other’s personalities better and see yourself through the eyes of your significant other.

Here are some Huntsville spots to check out:
