1. Education: Village of Promise

Serving over 165 families, Village of Promise focuses on four key areas:

2. Disabilities + inclusivity: The Arc of Madison County
A group of parents founded The Arc in the 1950s to create more services and support for children with disabilities. One of their initial achievements was putting the first special education teacher in the Huntsville City School System.
The Arc now has expanded to offer the following services:
- Vocational Services
- Early Intervention
- Pediatric Outpatient Center
- Autism Clinic
- Community Experience
- Residential Services

3-5. Art: Huntsville Museum of Art, Fantasy Playhouse + Arts Huntsville
The arts scene is rapidly growing in Huntsville, and you can be in the middle of the excitement through volunteering.
3. Huntsville Museum of Art: The museum’s mission is to bring people, art and culture together. Volunteers can lead tours through the Docent Association program or assist with children and adult classes in the Museum Academy.

4. Fantasy Playhouse: Along with putting on top-notch productions, Fantasy Playhouse offers summer camps and educational opportunities for children interested in theater. Volunteers can help in many ways, through acting, directing, designing costumes, choreographing, marketing and more.

5. Arts Huntsville: Existing to promote the local art scene, Arts Huntsville brings traction to large organizations—like the Museum of Art—and smaller ones—like Opera Huntsville. They also put on enriching events every year, like Concerts in the Park and Panoply Arts Festival.

6. Adoption: Kids to Love
Serving children in foster care, Kids to Love provides clothing, Christmas present, college scholarships and more.
The Madison location contains the warehouse for Christmas, emergency assistance, school supplies and the Alabama-licensed Child Placing Agency. Plus, it houses KTECH’s classrooms, computer labs and training spaces.

7. Housing: 8th Street Community
8th Street Community is a faith-based nonprofit that provides housing for members of our community with disabilities.
They currently support 18 disabled residents in a full-time capacity, providing structured living arrangements, care plans and activities to improve residents’ quality of life.

8. Environment: Huntsville Botanical Garden
Arguably the most beautiful spot in the Rocket City, the Huntsville Botanical Garden serves as a natural oasis from Huntsville’s bustling city growth.
The Garden’s mission is to connect people with plants to improve their quality of life. The Garden regularly hosts learning opportunities, such as youth camps, field trips, adult programs and more.

9-10. Healthcare + science: Huntsville Hospital Foundation + HudsonAlpha
