Well, Huntsville, it’s that time again! You know what I mean — weekend! There’s plenty to do in the Rocket City over the next few days (we have told you about several of these events over the course of this week) whether it’s music, sports or just catching a cool farmers market.

Here’s some of the fun things to do in Huntsville this weekend:

Live Music

Add live music to the list of fun things to do in Huntsville this weekend. With two awesome shows at the Orion and a BBQ and Soul festival, the live music slate is packed in the Rocket City:

  • Cody Jinks: May 19, Orion Amphitheater, 7PM. Catch this popular singer/songwriter with special guests Charles Wesley Godwin and Erin Viancourt.
  • Bad Camaro: May 19, Stovehouse, 7PM. Bad Camaro has been serving up hot rock & roll to the Tennessee Valley and beyond for the better part of a decade.
  • Rocket City BBQ & Soul Fest: May 20, NSS Conference Center, 10AM. Enjoy great food, friends, live music, a BBQ competition, and activities for the entire family.
  • Martina McBride: May 20, Orion Amphitheater, 7PM. Award-winning country music artist Martina McBride hits the stage at the fabulous Orion for a Saturday night performance!
  • Microwave Dave: May 21, Humphrey’s Bar & Grill, 11AM. Catch Huntsville legend Microwave Dave’s brunchtime performance Sunday at Humphrey’s.

From minor league and college baseball to pro soccer, we have a ton of sports to take in here in the Rocket City this weekend. Take a look:

  • Huntsville City FC vs Crown Legacy FC: May 19, Joe Davis Stadium, 7PM. The inaugural home game for your own HCFC pro soccer team is here!
  • Trash Pandas vs Birmingham: May 19-21, Toyota Field, Fri. + Sat. 6:30PM, Sun. 2:30PM. The Trash Pandas take on the Birmingham Barons all weekend at Toyota Field!
  • Alabama A&M vs Mississippi Valley State: May 19, Bulldog Field, 1PM. The Bulldogs baseball team has a double header Friday against MVSU. 
  • David McKannan Memorial 5K: May 20, Grissom High School, 7AM. This run is held in memory of David, an avid runner, loving father, husband and brother who lost his battle with ALS in 2012. 
  • Apollo Cup Soccer Tournament: May 20-21, Merrimack Soccer Complex, All weekend. This is an incredible weekend of soccer with some of the best competition in the south.

Whether you want to check out a farmers market or take your kid to a Harry Potter gathering, there are plenty of fun things to do in Huntsville this weekend with a lot of variety! Check out these events:

  • Collectors + Shooters Gun Show: May 20-21, Von Braun Center, 10AM. This Huntsville gun show is held at Von Braun Civic Center and hosted by Collectors and Shooters Company. All federal and local firearm laws and ordinances must be obeyed.
  • Killer Beaz: May 20, Stand Up Live, 6PM. This guy is hilarious, and has been making folks laugh for decades!
  • Water Lantern Festival: May 20, Big Spring Park, 5:30PM. Experience the magic of the Water Lantern Festival where you will enjoy tasty food trucks, fun music, and an incredible sight as thousands of floating lanterns reflect unique messages of love, hope and happiness.
  • Harry Potter- Mischief Managed: May 20-21, Early Works Museum, Sat. 9AM-4PM, Sun. 11AM-4PM. Come celebrate all things Harry Potter at EarlyWorks with themed crafts, Quidditch and a museum-wide scavenger hunt!
  • Market at MidCity: May 21, MidCity District, 12PM. Vendors, food trucks, live music and more is at The Camp at MidCity Sunday!
