Here are 15 cool events for the first weekend of November

As November begins, we have plenty of cool stuff to tell you about in regard to weekend events coming up. From live music to markets and sales, you’re sure to find something you’ll want to attend.

Check out these events:

1. Under the Christmas Tree

This festive three-day event — brought to you by Randolph School — is your chance to shop local, get ahead of your holiday shopping, and kickstart the holiday spirit with more than 100 vendors offering unique gifts, exciting raffle prizes and special events.

2. Mid-South Woodcarving Show + Competition

The North Alabama Woodcarvers Association will host the 40th Annual Mid-South Woodcarving Show and Competition on Friday and Saturday, November 1st and 2nd at Trinity United Methodist Church.

3. Hauntsville Film Fest

This awesome film festival is dedicated to showcasing the incredible talent of female, female-presenting and non-binary filmmakers. Enjoy a weekend filled with cinematic experiences, including screenings in the large event center equipped with multiple screens and a state-of-the-art sound system.

4. The Gift Idea Party

Local artists Mike Williams and Stephanie Weaver in jubilant Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment invite you all to join them and participating artists on the Second Floor South for an evening of inspiration and art.

5. Unclaimed Baggage Ski Sale

Each year, the popular Alabama retailer hosts its annual Ski Sale Event during the first weekend in November, which features thousands of sought-after winter items (and ski gear) discovered from within lost luggage.

6. Mayor Battle’s Tree Planting Day

This year’s planting will feature a diverse selection of trees: oaks, maples, bald cypress, river birch, yellow poplar, southern magnolia, redbuds, dogwoods and a few elms. Each tree you plant is an investment in a greener future for Huntsville.

7. El Mercado del Pueblo

This market aims to grow Latino small businesses, celebrate the diversity of Latin culture in Huntsville and create a space for all to enjoy the food, music and values contributed by the Latino community.

8. STEAMFest

Fun for the whole family, STEAMfest is THE science event of the year. With thousands of free science giveaways, live demos, amazing presentations and more.

9. Holiday Floral Arrangement

Are you looking to spruce up your home during this winter season? This class will cover essential techniques and creative tips, culminating in crafting a stunning seasonal arrangement in a brass bowl.

10. 3rd Annual German Food Fest

Kick off November by enjoying some delicious German cuisine at Messiah Lutheran Church in Madison. This event has been a huge and popular success for the last few years.

11. Meet + Greet w/Microwave Dave

Kaffeeklatsch and WLRH are teaming up to hand out coffee samples, play groovy local tunes and enjoy a celebrity appearance from Microwave Dave.

12. 9th Annual Rods and Wheels Cruise-In

13. 2024 Apple Annie Carnival

Celebrate November with this Fall Carnival at Huntsville’s Constitution Hall Park in Downtown Huntsville. Come with an appetite for an apple themed snack and fun! We will have our apple nacho bar, apple cider slushies, pretzels and other treats.

14. A Ray of Hope Festival

Celebrate the diversity of our community and enjoy performances from local chapters of international dance and performance groups while exploring a diverse array of food and beverage offerings.

15. From Alabama, With Love: Hurricane Relief Concert

Don’t miss this benefit concert to help those impacted by Hurricane Helene. This night is all about coming together and showing our neighbors they’re loved and not alone. Featured acts include: Walker Street Opry, Grasstronauts, Jim Holland and Guests, Milltowne and more.
