Well, the weekend is almost here and with the weather so pleasant, you really should get out and about in the Rocket City. And we have several suggestions.

Check out these events happening this weekend in the Huntsville area:

1. WhistleStop Festival

The Whistle stop Festival is back, and benefiting Early works Children’s Museum. Catch live music, great food and good times at MidCity this weekend.

2. Food Truck Rally + Movie in the Park

Grab a bite from one of dozens of local food truck vendors at Big Spring Park before watching a free showing of “Despicable Me 4.”

3. Tennessee Valley Auto Fest

Check out Huntsville’s newest auto show, featuring custom vehicles from all over the Tennessee Valley, famous vehicles from movies, live music, celebrity appearances and a special fireworks display on Friday night.

4. Zombie Hunt

Dive deep into the heart of a zombie-infested farm and showcase your survival skills in this interactive zombie hunt. This spooky experience includes black-lights, glowing paintballs and a pulse-pounding sound system.

5. Sleepy Hollow: A musical Tale

This new musical puts a current spin on the classic Washington Irving story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Check out this cool presentation this weekend by Around the Curtain Children;s Theatre.

6. Rocket City Toy + Comic Expo

Check out vintage and modern toys, golden age and modern comics from more than 50 vendors this weekend at the Jaycee’s Building.

7. Pawsitive Outreach Community Event

Join Huntsville Animal Services for this “paw-some” event. They’ll be handing out spay and neuter vouchers as well as goody bags with leashes, free dog/cat food and more.

8. Howloween Fest

Join the Neuro-Affirmative Autism Resource Center for a day of family fun with vendors and community agencies from across North Alabama, activities for every age and ability and festival fall fun for the whole family, including our four-legged friends!

9. ATO Auto Emporium

Head out to Toyota Field Saturday for Alpha Tau Omega’s annual philanthropic car show supporting the Alzheimer’s Association.

10. Black Arts + Wine Festival

Black Arts & Wine Festival offers attendees a chance to experience visual art by Black creatives and sample wines and liquors from Black Brands.

11. October Swing Dance

Come enjoy a free October Swing Dance at Piper and Leaf in Downtown Huntsville. Saturn Jive Dance will be there at 3:30PM with music, tea and friendly people.

12.Unique Live Band 

Enjoy the funky R&B sounds of Huntsville’s own Unique Live Band at Stovehouse this weekend.

13. Alabama Streetwear Market

Find your favorite brands and get some great deals on the best street wear at this Sunday market.

14. Maple Hill Cemetery Stroll

Experience the deep history of Huntsville through historic grave sights at Huntsville’s famous Maple Hill Cemetery. This is an educational, entertaining and interactive experience brought to you by Arts Huntsville.

15. Havana Nights

Get ready to be transported to the vibrant streets of Havana without leaving the Rocket City. Dance the night away to live music, sip on handcrafted cocktails, indulge in delectable Cuban-inspired dishes and be prepared for amazing surprises.
