The first weekend of March is just days away, and we have plenty of cool weekend events to tell you about as we kick off a new month here in the Rocket City.

Check these out:

1. UAH Baseball

The Chargers have three games this weekend against Valdosta State, so get on out and catch these free baseball games!

2. Tony Rock

Come out to Levity Live this weekend to see comedian, actor and producer Tony Rock. Tony has proven to be one of television’s best hosts having played the role of ringleader on HBO’s weekly stand-up comedy series All Def Comedy, NBA TV’s The Warm Up, along with BET’s Black Card Revoked and Apollo Live.

3. 2nd Annual Rocket City Blues Festival

Don’t miss the 2nd Annual Rocket City Blues Festival at the VBC! This special night of emotive lyrics and guitar-driven accompaniment features performances by King George, Tucka, Pokey Bear, J-Wonn, West Love and Ronnie Bell.

4. Mardi Gras Masquerade Bingo

Come join Soroptimist International of Huntsville for their first Masquerade Bingo! Tickets are $45 and include one book of bingo cards and dinner. Additional bingo cards and raffle tickets are available for purchase.

5. Fire on the Mountain

Burritt on the Mountain’s historic cooks will transport you to the 1800’s with all of your senses as you hear, smell, and maybe even taste their work. This is such a cool experience in a beautiful setting.

6. The Flip Trade Show

Those of you with baseball cards, sports memorabilia and the like will love this exhibit at the Von Braun Center Saturday.

7. Huntsville Vintage Market

Shop thousands of vintage gems from vendors, offering unique pieces from clothing to decor to collectibles spanning from the 50s to the 2000s.

9. Hike at Hickory Cove

Looking for a nice afternoon stroll in the woods with neighbors and friends? The Hickory Cove Preserve’s Legacy Loop is a moderate 2 hour afternoon hike that is family friendly.

10. Mardi Gras Parade

Huntsville’s 13th Annual Mardi Gras Parade is happening March 1 in Downtown Huntsville. The streets of Huntsville will be in full color, beads will be thrown and fun will be had all afternoon.

11. Huntsville Havoc vs. Birmingham Bulls

You Huntsville Havoc will host in-state rivals the Birmingham Bulls Saturday night, with a Racing Night theme, with specialty jerseys and high-speed excitement!

12. Doc Dailey + Will Stewart

Don’t miss this night of original Alabama music featuring the return of Doc Dailey & Magnolia Devil (Muscle Shoals), critically acclaimed (Birmingham) singer/ songwriter Will Stewart & His Band, and the incredible singer/songwriter Kassidy McCorkle (Tuscumbia).

13. Mardi Gras Crawfish Boil at Back Forty

Head down to Back Forty and enjoy live music featuring Josh Allison and Tim Cannon starting at noon. Plus, you can enjoy a bountiful plate featuring 1.5 lbs of crawfish with corn and potatoes.

14. 3rd Annual MidCity Mardi Gras Paw Parade

Spread the word to all your animal and pup loving friends to attend the Mardi Gras Paw Parade at MidCity. Guests will find adoptable pups with Rocket City Rescue; live brass music; brunch and more.

15. UAH Spring Road Race

This popular 8K race runs through the campus of UAH. This race benefits the Huntsville Dialysis Center with a donation made in remembrance of long time HTC member Earl Jacoby.
