As Huntsville expands, so does its food scene. Nowadays, it seems like there are a million options to choose from. As options grow, so do accessible eating spots—especially those that contribute necessary dietary modifications like gluten-free environments.

We searched and found 16 spots around the Rocket City that serve gluten-free dishes and treats.

Osteria LuCa

Osteria LuCa is a wonderful recent addition to the Huntsville food scene. This upscale Italian spot offers GF bread for sandwiches and appetizers, alongside GF noodles for delicious pastas! It’s definitely worth a visit.

Pane E Vino

This classic Italian restaurant has some of the best views in town in its location bordering Big Spring Park. The restaurant also serves gluten-free modications—like crust and noodles—to visitors in need of accomodations.

Sam & Greg’s

Sam and Greg’s has delicious options all-around: pizza, gelato, sandwiches and more! They also offer a gluten-free personal pan pizza option and serve gelato, a traditionally GF dessert!

Brick & Tin

Brick & Tin has only been in the Rocket City for a few months, but they’re already making an impact. They have many plates—including soups, wraps and bowls—that are all gluten-free and delicious.

Cooper’s Hawk

Cooper’s Hawk is a dining destination new to Madison that brings upscale food and fine wine to the region. They also have a lengthy dedicated gluten-free menu for patrons, where visitors can order almost identical GF versions of standard meals!

Domaine South

With an expertly-curated menu that is sensitive to gluten allergies, and a selection of excellent wines from across the globe, Domaine is the perfect place to spend a night out!

Goodland Pourhouse

Our team loves visiting Goodland Pourhouse; the service is great and the food is better. The same can be said for GF options, as they have modifications for the majority of items on their menu to accomodate GF diets.

Asian eats

Kamado

Kamado Ramen

Huntsville is home to two locations of Kamado Ramen, both of which have GF dining options. Their central option is ramen made with gluten-free noodles and able to include additions like tofu, corn, bamboo shoots or extra meat, just like a regular bowl. Sounds delish!

Sushime Asian Bistro

How could we make a food roundup and not include sushi? Sushime is a favorite among the Huntsville gluten-free community. They take care with allergens, offering delicious and safe food items for everyone.

Thai Garden

Huntsville loves Thai Garden, and we do too! Thai food is essentially synonymous with gluten-free cuisine, as many of its dishes are naturally gluten-free. Right now, we can’t get enough of the Pad Thai — delicious rice noodles paired with a spicy, savory sauce. You can’t beat it.

Mexican meals

Condado Tacos

Condado Taco

Our team loves Condado. Check out what Mallory had to say!

“Condado Tacos is a yummy spot for tacos. They make all kinds of funky taco concoctions! My favorite is their Blue Dream taco which is flour soft and kewl ranch shells with queso, Tex-Mex ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes and avocado ranch sauce.”
Mallory Kimbrell, Content Producer

Condado also has many gluten-free items on their menu, including several of their appetizers (like their street corn) and lots of their high-protein and crave bowls.

Taco Mama

Taco Mama is a great spot for a delicious, quick, gluten-free bite. Don’t forget a margarita (also gluten-free)!

Cafés, bakeries + treat spots

Mason Dixon Bakery & Bistro

There are absolutely no worries finding delicious GF options at Mason Dixon—it is Alabama’s first dedicated, wholly gluten-free bakery! The bakery and bistro both serve up delicious options for visitors, all created in a celiac-safe environment.

The Moon Bakeshop

Madeline Watkins opened The Moon Bakeshop opened in 2019 with a “small batch from scratch” mentality that quickly made the Moon a big name in town. The Moon also offers several GF variations on treats so everyone can enjoy!

That completes our list. While all of these restaurants offer GF options, they are not always safe for visitors with celiac or severe gluten intolerances. When visiting, be sure to discuss with the staff to ensure the food is prepared in a safe and gluten-free-friendly kitchen.
