As the weather gets warmer, outdoor dining is a must-have. The option allows for a laid-back, social atmosphere that’s perfect for enjoying time with friends or simply soaking in a peaceful sunny moment.

Lucky for us, Huntsville is home to a variety of bars, restaurants and cafés that include patios and outdoor seating. Read on for our list on great springtime dining options.

Back Forty Beer Co.

Back Forty, while home to a spacious interior, also includes a variety of outdoor seating options for visitors to enjoy. The bar includes shaded, unshaded and balcony seating.

Baker & Able

This rooftop bar is aesthetically inspired by Baker and Able, the two ambitious monkeys who went to space in 1959 and serve as the bar’s namesake. With its spacious rooftop patio, this bar offers the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the Huntsville skyline.

Barracuda Taco Stand is made up of all outdoor seating; you order by walking up to a window, and your food is served out of a different one! All of the restaurant’s seating is picnic tables on a wooden deck under an awning—perfect for a springtime meal!

Huntsville’s favorite pizzeria/gelateria spot is an absolute staple to downtown Huntsvile and—more recently—Madison! The downtown spot has plenty of open-air seating for patrons to enjoy their food!

Stella’s is an amazing spot for a more upscale dining and drinking experience. Order a cocktail (or mocktail) and head out to their patio to enjoy!

One of the Rocket City’s favorite breweries, Yellowhammer, includes patio seating that opens up to a green space for everyone to enjoy. It’s the perfect place to get a drink and enjoy the spring weather.

The Camp is Midcity’s own bar-restaurant-hangout experience; the space includes several food and drink vendors, and plenty of space to dine and drink outdoors.

Campus No. 805

Campus No. 805 is a great indoor venue, but several of its restaurants also feature outdoor seating and dining options. Straight to Ale and Hops N Guac are two bars in the space that have patio seating for visitors.

Field Day

While Field Day is full of tons of fun things to do inside, it also includes ton of outdoor tables. Patrons can get a drink—they have lots of options—and head outside to enjoy it in the sun.

Stovehouse is another one of the Rocket City’s fantastic mixed-use spaces. With restaurants, retail spots, and tons of open-air seating, this place can’t be beat on a springtime afternoon.
