2 new basketball coaches hired for Huntsville City Schools

Now that the season is over, Mae Jemison High School and Columbia High School have new basketball coaches.

The Huntsville City Schools Board of Education approved the hiring of Lee Riley at Columbia and Justin Pride at Mae Jemison.

About these new coaches

Mobile native Lee Riley will coach the Columbia High School boys following a historic run at Vigor High School. In his first season as a high school head coach, Riley led Vigor to the 2024–2025 AHSAA State Championship, the first state championship in program history.

Pride, a Huntsville native and graduate of S.R. Butler High School, will coach the girls team at Mae Jemison. Pride helped lead the team to three Alabama High School State Basketball Championships and was named the Alabama Class 4A Player of the Year in 2012.
