2 new master’s degrees at UAH approved by UA system

The University of Alabama System’s Board of Trustees gave the go-ahead for UAH to get accreditation for two new master’s degrees. After approval by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education, UAH will offer an Executive Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science Degree in Data Science.

The UAH Executive MBA is an accelerated, 16-month, cohort-based program where students collaborate with peers from diverse industries to advance their leadership skills at the executive level.
- Cohort format (students experience the entire program with other like-minded leaders who want to serve at the executive level, while building a collaborative professional network)
- In-person residencies once per month, supplemented by online content
- Designed specifically for mid- to senior-level managers with at least five years of professional experience in a managerial role
- Curriculum designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge for executive leadership
- AACSB accredited
The MS in Data Science consists of core courses in statistics, computer science (machine learning and AI) and subject-matter tracks in astrostatistics, biostatistics and applied statistics.
It is complemented by a capstone course providing a research and/or practical application to real-life data science problems, and is designed to serve both traditional and non-traditional students. The program is proposed for implementation in fall 2027 in the UAH College of Science.
