3 Purim celebrations in Huntsville—Hamantaschen, costumes and more
This year, Purim falls on the evening of March 6 through the evening of March 7.
Huntsville’s got three different Purim celebrations this year on March 5, 6 and 7, so you can fill up on plenty of hamantaschen. Here’s where.
1. Purim Pizza, Potluck, Pinot and Punch with Temple B’nai Sholom
This celebration sounds like a ton of fun to me (partly because I love alliteration). This evening is going to be lots of fun, with a Purim Spiel (play), music, pizza, a costume contest and, of course, hamantaschen.
- Location: 103 Lincoln St SE, Huntsville, AL 35801
- Date: Sunday, March 5, 5:30PM

2. Purim Party and Spiel with Etz Chayim Conservative Synagogue
This event, sponsored by the Etz Chayim Sisterhood, is going to be filled with costumes, hot dogs, beer and hamantaschen. After dinner, they’ll have a Purim Spiel (play) directed by Max Rosenthal.
- Location: 7705 Bailey Cove Rd SE, Huntsville, AL 35802

3. Purim Moroccan Style with Chabad of Huntsville
Chabad of Huntsville does some fun themed Purim parties, like their New York-inspired one pictured above. This year, they’re hosting a Moroccan-inspired celebration with a Henna tattoo artist, North African drum circle, Moroccan cuisine and hamantaschen.
