33 high school students selected for Mayor’s Youth Council in Madison

Mayor Ranae Bartlett of Madison announced this week that 33 high school students in the city have been chosen for the inaugural Mayor’s Youth Council.

The program gives students a firsthand look at how local government operates through hands-on, immersive experiences.

Who’s on the first Mayor’s Youth Council?

This inaugural class includes students in grades 9 through 12 who attend area public schools, private schools or are homeschooled. Monthly meetings will allow students to explore career paths in public service, and participants will attend public meetings and complete at least two service projects during the year.

The inaugural class of the Mayor’s Youth Council includes:

• Blaise Bruni – Bob Jones High School, 10^th Grade
• Elin Chitwood – St. John Paul II Catholic High School, 10^th Grade
• Brennan Harris – Westminster Christian Academy, 10^th Grade
• Lydia Hosmer – James Clemens High School, 10^th Grade
