4 engaging activities for little kids in Huntsville
It can be hard to find a truly engaging activity to help your child learn and grow. Luckily, Huntsville has plenty of classes and programs to keep your kid involved, and not just for the duration of a one-time event.
We’ve compiled a list of the city’s favorite recurring activities for little kids in Huntsville:
1. Artsy Tots at Huntsville Museum of Art
Open to kids in Huntsville between 2 and 3 years old, Artsy Tots helps develop coordination and color recognition. This free event occurs on one Friday a month and is limited to 10 children per class.

2. Reading Superheroes! at North Huntsville Public Library
This program welcomes all superheroes from Kindergarten through sixth grade. It’s open every Tuesday from 3-5PM, and is a safe space for kids who fall in that age range to practice their reading skills with other kids or adults.
3. Sensory-Friendly Sundays at EarlyWorks Children’s Museum
EarlyWorks’ Sensory-Friendly Sundays are a great chance for any and all children with sensory sensitivities to explore the museum with accommodations like limited noise, dimmed lights and capacity limits designed to prevent overstimulation. Purchase your tickets today!

4. Classes + Camps at Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater + Academy
Fantasy Playhouse has classes and camps for little kids in Huntsville as young as 3 years old. The fall 2023 semester is open for registration now — check out their long list of classes for kids of all skill levels.
Younger kids have the option to learn about theater in classes like “Sing Disney! Dance Disney!” and “Bluey & Bingo’s Big Adventure,” allowing them to step into the shoes of their favorite characters and immerse themselves in the land of pretend.
