Zero storage, bland design, thousands of stairs—these are undoubtedly the disadvantages of living in an apartment. Disgruntled but determined, my Pyredoodle Teddy and I weren’t convinced these sore spots were the only reality of Huntsville-area apartments.

It feels like you’re living in a house when you have a massive garage attached to your unit—perfect for storing those extra boxes or parking your sweet ride. Plus, Teddy told me he would love lying on the cool floor after a long walk.

So you’re moving out of your parents’ house or upgrading your place, and you’re ready to make some epic gourmet meals. However, there’s one problem—your apartment’s kitchen is tiny, offering zero counter space to prep all your favorite dishes.

I love the outdoors and exploring nature, so the four walls of an apartment can become suffocating if I don’t have an outdoor escape. That’s why I love the back patio at St. Andrew’s Villas—it was private, spacious and cozy.

Teddy said I could totally put him on his stake out here and give him a chance to get some energy out. I said that’s fine as long as I get to kick my feet up, read a book and take in the private view.
