4 ways to honor vets in Huntsville this Veterans Day

The holiday started in Alabama more than 75 years ago. Today, people all over, and right here in Huntsville, celebrate veterans on November 11.
1. U.S. Army Field Band performance
Check out a patriotic concert from the United States Army Field Band’s Jazz Ambassadors on Sunday.
The 19-member ensemble will travel from Washington D.C. to Huntsville’s Von Braun Center to perform “This We’ll Defend.”
The roughly hour-long concert is free to the public but limited to four tickets per household.

2. U.S. Veterans Memorial Museum Open House
Don’t miss the U.S. Veterans Memorial Museum’s free open house on Monday.
The museum displays military artifacts and vehicles from the American Revolutionary War to today.

3. Breakfast + Dinner at Von Braun Center
The Von Braun Center’s Saturn Room will host a dinner Friday to honor Madison County Hall of Heroes’ newest inductees, the 2024 Huntsville Veteran of the Year and other special guests.
Then on Veterans Day morning, enjoy a free breakfast with those who served in WWII and the Korean War.

4. Parade in Downtown Huntsville
Check out the 2024 Veterans Day Parade through downtown and Big Spring Park Monday.
Enjoy patriotic music from the Huntsville Concert Band at the pre-parade show starting at 10 AM in front of Veterans Memorial Park.
Then one hour later, check out all this year’s parade has to offer!
