This year, the 4th of July falls on a Tuesday, which can be confusing — and for those of us who do not have Monday off work, perhaps inconvenient — when you are out celebrating the holiday. So while you are preparing your cookout, be aware of what is open and what is closed for the Independence Day holiday.

Most grocery stores and restaurants will be open Tuesday, although some of them may operate under special holiday hours. Here are the businesses we know will be open Tuesday, July 4th:
- Academy Sports + Outdoors: Open regular hours
- Aldi: Closes at 4PM
- Best Buy: Open regular hours
- Big Lots: Open regular hours
- BJ’s Wholesale: Open regular hours
- Cabela’s: Open 9AM-7PM
- CVS: Most stores will be open regular hours. Pharmacy hours may vary by location.
- Dillard’s: Open 11AM to 6PM
- Home Depot: Open regular hours
- Huntsville Botanical Garden: Open regular hours
- Huntsville Museum of Art: Open regular hours
- Kohl’s: Open regular hours
- Kroger: Open regular hours
- Dollar General: Open regular hours
- Lowe’s: Open regular hours
- Office Depot and OfficeMax: Open regular hours
- Publix: Open regular hours
- Sam’s Club: Open 8AM to 6PM for Plus members; 10AM to 6PM for Club members
