If you’re like me, shopping locally in Huntsville is one of your priorities this New Year.
Keep reading to discover our suggestions for local alternatives to big box stores, selling all of your everyday essentials.
1. Cleaners, personal products + laundry detergent
- Dragon Craft: If you love supporting local businesses and doing DIY projects, make your own soap at Dragon Craft, located inside of Lowe Mill.
- Lemon + Lavender: Situated in downtown Madison, this is your one-stop-shop for all things laundry, cleaning and beauty. They even have North Alabama’s first ‘refillery’ for non-toxic laundry detergent and dish soaps.
- Luna Moth: If you’re a candle lover, Luna Moth is right up your alley. Plus, their candles are gorgeous and non-toxic!
- Mojana Soaps: Located on Clinton Ave, Mojana Soaps’ products look so cute you might mistake them for a sweet treat.
2. Groceries
- Star Super Market: Located in Five Points, Star Super Market opened in 1944 and has been a staple of the community ever since. It’s a full-fledged grocery store with a bakery, deli, pharmacy and more.
- European Market: One of the best hidden gems in Huntsville, the European Market on Bob Wallace specializes in Eastern European meats, cheeses, snacks, bread and desserts.
