Looking to stay active during the summer without breaking the bank? Huntsville has many community-led workouts are a great way to get moving, meet new people, and make the most of the warm weather.

Yoga by the River

Yoga by the River is back for this year! Green Team Huntsville, whose mission is to help keep Huntsville sustainable, is hosting an hour of relaxing yoga by the Flint River. The best part about this is that it’s completely FREE!

Fitness in the Park

Healthy Huntsville plans lots of free nutrition and fitness classes for the City of Huntsville. Fitness in the Park offers FREE fitness classes for everyone. Classes range from Zumba, yoga, pilates and dance fitness.

  • When: Every Saturday in May + June
  • Time: Starting at 9AM

Schedule for the rest of the events:

  • May 24: Zumba with Angie, John Hunt Park
  • May 31: Pilates and Balance Fusion with Steady for Life, Sandra Moon Community Complex
  • June 7: Resilience Yoga with Sheila, Legacy Park
  • June 14: Kardio Dance Fitness with Karissa, Legacy Park

Fitness Courts

Huntsville offers several parks equipped with fitness amenities for those who prefer self-guided workouts. John Hunt Park, Legacy Park and Apollo Park all have a Fitness Court, which features seven movements for a person’s everyday health:

  • Core
  • Squat
  • Push
  • Lunge
  • Pull
  • Agility
  • Bend

Pickleball Courts

In recent years, pickleball has become all the craze. Pickleball is a combination of tennis, ping-pong and badminton and is lots of fun to play.

These courts are outdoor courts that are not associated with the Huntsville Pickleball Club and are FREE to use:

Bend + Brew

Back Forty Beer Company and Grow Yoga are partnering to host FREE 60-minute outdoor yoga. Don’t forget to bring a yoga mat, a water bottle and your friend with you!

  • Time: Starting at 10:30AM
