I realize it’s still mid-February and we are coming off a cold and rainy weekend, but isn’t that an even better reason to look toward spring and being outside at a fun festival?
Well I think it’s time to start thinking about all the Huntsville-area spring festivals coming up, and get a plan together for attending them. Shall we?

The North Alabama Zoological Society’s Kids Festival at Monte Sano is in its second year, and is all about teaching children about Alabama’s unique biodiversity and helping them to have opportunities to be outside and explore nature.
Come as a family and join in for a day of fun, food and the best of Alabama outdoors!

April 15 – Battle of the Buffalo
Battle of the Buffalo is an annual chicken wing festival held at Big Spring Park, hosted by Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. This April, for the fourteenth round, local restaurants and amateur cooks will compete with their tastiest wings in an effort to be crowned best of the Tennessee Valley!

April 28-30 – Panoply Arts Festival
Panoply, one of the most popular and oldest Huntsville-area spring festivals, is Alabama‘s premier arts weekend where Huntsville’s innovative spark shines through a festival of art, music and more! This year will be the 41st edition of the festival, which is embedded as part of Huntsville culture.

May 20 – Rocket City BBQ + Soul Fest
The Rocket City BBQ & Soul Fest is a family-friendly day of food, fun, and sunshine being held at the NSS Conference Center. This is one of those awesome Huntsville-area spring festivals that combines food with music!

May 27-28 – Alabama Jubilee Hot Air Balloon Classic
If you have never been to the Alabama Jubilee Hot Air Balloon Classic in Decatur, you are missing out, and you absolutely must put that on your list for spring activities. This is the oldest hot-air balloon race in the mid-South, starting in Decatur in 1978.
