The holidays are fast approaching, Huntsville, which means more Christmas events are just on the horizon. In fact, some of the most premier Huntsville holiday events will be opening as soon as this weekend!

If you’re looking for a little extra fun this season, don’t miss out on the following holiday events in Huntsville:

Christkindlmarket at the Orion Ampitheater

The Christkindlmarket is yet another great opportunity to shop local this holiday season while celebrating German culture. (The Orion Ampitheater / Facebook)

The Orion Ampitheater’s Christkindlmarket is my personal favorite event on this list for many reasons.

This year’s event will feature over 60 local artists showcasing their work. You can also try German dishes from local standouts such as Weiner Von Braun, Fire & Spice and Nica’s Grille in addition to holiday-themed treats.

There will also be live performances throughout the weekend, ensuring a merry time for all visitors.

Christmas Light Show & Winter Wonderland at Toyota Field

This year marks the fifth year in which you can enjoy Toyota Field’s terrific Christmas Light Show & Winter Wonderland.

For only $30 per car, guests can drive through Toyota Field’s 1.5 miles of beautiful Christmas lights synchronized to holiday music.

Skating in the Park

This year marks the 12th consecutive season of Skating in the Park at Big Spring Park. (Skating in the Park / Facebook)

Skating in the Park’s opening day is happening very soon and can help you build on an epic holiday season.

Whether you’re a pro ice skater or a newbie like me, this family-friendly outdoor event is a staple for the Huntsville community and adds a little extra magic to the season.

Tinsel Trail in downtown

This year’s Tinsel Trail will display over 400 decorated trees to turn downtown into a festive Christmas wonderland. (Tinsel Trail / Facebook)

After you visit Skating in the Park, you’ll also be able to check out downtown’s annual Tinsel Trail featuring decorated trees from individuals, nonprofits and corporations.

This Christmas event is a fun way to see the spirit of Christmas in Huntsville gathered in one place. When you visit, I highly recommend grabbing a cup of hot chocolate nearby to enjoy during your holiday stroll.

Yule Y’all at Lowe Mill

Lowe Mill will also be featuring its own local market this year. However, this market will be inspired by Huntsville’s Southern roots and also include samplings of local spirits for visitors to enjoy.

If you’re still in need of some gifts for a loved one after the Christkindlmarket, be sure to shop local at this upcoming Christmas event.
