For a city of its size, Huntsville has a strong identity when it comes to local breweries & craft beer.

There are spots all around the city where you can enjoy a pint of locally brewed beer—but we went ahead and narrowed it down to six well-known + popular locations.

So, whether you hit them alone or with your friends—these places are ready to cool you down on a hot summer day!

1) Yellowhammer Brewing

German-inspired brewery known for its lagers, seasonal brews + a spacious beer garden. The brewery was founded in 2010 but moved into its current location in 2015.

2) Straight to Ale

One of Huntsville’s OG craft breweries featuring fan-fav beers like Monkeynaut, a lively taproom + entertainment. They also produce their own mead + cider.

3) Green Bus Brewing

A brewery in downtown with a diverse selection of beers, tasting flights + live music. My personal favorite beverage is their Coconut Cream Ale.

4)  Old Black Bear Brewing Company

This spot is a locally loved brewery with handcrafted beers + Southern eats! They have a location in Athens as well if you’re ever thirsty and in the area!

5) Back Forty Beer Company

 Here you’ll find signature craft beers, fresh pizza + outdoor games. Their menu includes a repertoire of 50 beers throughout the year, with 20 being on tap at any single time.

6) InnerSpace Brewing Company

Space + sci-fi themed taproom with a rotating collection of craft beers + ciders. If you have any four-legged furry friends, they have an outdoor patio which can accommodate them!

7) Mad Malts Brewing

Founded in 2012, Mad Malts not only a fabulous craft brewery, it also is a fun spot to see some live music, which they have every Wednesday, Friday + Saturday.

8) Cross-Eyed Owl Brewing

This Decatur brewery specializes in German, British and Belgian-style beers, but also brews some tasty American IPAs. This brewery also doubles a coffee roaster and you can buy beans by the pound or half pound.

9) Seidr Brewing

A unique craft brewery, you can find a delicious raspberry sour, peaches + cream mead or even an orange peel wit at Seidr in Arab. And all additional fruit and flavor ingredients are made fresh on site.

10) Singin’ River Brewing Company

These folks in Florence brew some tasty beer. But beyond great beer, they have a vibrant tap room, serve as a marvelous live music venue + offer a full-service event center.
