Love is in the air, and Valentine’s Day in Huntsville has many unique opportunities to connect to the community, coupled up or not.

1. See a ballet performance

This series of in-studio performances showcases Huntsville Ballet Company’s dancers performing in genres of their choice. The intimate setting of the studio has proven to create an immersive, interactive experience.

2. Take a dance class

Celebrate the love’s perfect timing and the pep it puts in your step with a dance class at Saturn Jive Dance Space at Lowe Mill. The studio hosts many different classes every week featuring dances from all over the world, from African dances to Lindy Hop to hip hop.

3. Share laughs at an improv show

Many lovebirds will tell you the key relationships is sometimes just rolling with it as you go.

In that spirit, delight in a night of improv presented by Rocket City Improve + Fantastic Invaders Theatre in “Plot Twist: A Hallmark Valentine’s Day Special.”

In this PG-13 rated performance, the improv artists will offer up some titles of made-for-TV movies and let them choose one they’d like to see brought to life onstage. The show will then flow, with the improvisers using only a synopsis as the baseline.

4. Paint your partner

5. See a cabaret-style variety show

6. Learn to create your signature cocktail

7. No Valentine (yet)? Try speed dating

This fun speed dating event is in its sixth year, and it’s set the night before Valentine’s Day this year, scheduling around Huntsville’s Mardi Gras Parade on the 14th. But hey, you may make a love connection on Friday and have a date for Saturday!
