If your taste buds are anything like mine, you absolutely love a good waffle. They taste as nosatlgic as they are delicious — with every bite, I can hear the Eggos popping out of the toaster before school.

Huntsville is full of places where you can grub on some great waffles, including some restaurants you would never expect.

This extremely popular diner chain offers a few variations of waffles, but I have to personally recommend the Fruit Waffle. It was a fantastic blend of strawberries, blueberries and bananas, thay gave the waffle the perfect amount of sweet.

Hattie B’s

You wouldn’t expect standout waffles from a chicken joint, but I’ll be the first to tell you, these waffles can change your life. Truly, they are comparable to a funnel cake that you’d order at the fair, and the sweetness compliments the hot-flavored chicken perfectly.

Flying Biscuit Cafe

This cafe on Governors Drive is the perfect brunch spot, featuring a menu of fluffy biscuits, delicous chicken + waffles and a whole lot more. Kids eat free here Monday-Thursday, so be sure to take advantage of that!

Bubby’s Diner

Known for its “Dougnut Burger,” this diner serves an extensive breakfast menu everyday from opening until 11AM. I tried a waffle with blueberries added in, and it was simply delicious.

City Cafe Diner

This Huntsville staple diner has an impressive menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner options, as well as an entire section of the building dedicated to selling desserts. You can’t go wrong ordering a chocolate chip waffle from here.

Eggs Up Grill

Eggs Up Grill is a favorite breakfast, brunch + lunch spot for many across the United States. As far as waffles go, you can order them a la carte, in a combo or with some tasty chicken.

Superhero Chefs

If you didn’t think there was any relation between superheros and waffles, think again! This is one of the most unique restaurants in Huntsville, featuring super-themed waffles like “The Hulk” or “The Juggernaut.”

Just Love Coffee Cafe

If you’re after great waffles + coffee, look no further than Just Love Coffee Cafe. They serve seemingly endless amounts of signature drinks and have a few options for waffles, such as the “Loaded Farmhouse Waffle” or the “Berry Patch Waffle.”
