Do you want to extend your generosity after this Thanksgiving? Then you should consider participating in this year’s GivingTuesday!

If you’re not familiar, GivingTuesday is a holiday dedicated to promoting generosity worldwide. It started in 2012 and has occurred every year since on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

This holiday started as a way for community members to lend their support for movements big or small. Whether you choose to donate time, money or your voice, this holiday provides an excellent chance for all Huntsville residents to transform our community.

If you wish to participate in this charitable movement but you’re unsure of where you would like to donate, we encourage you to consider these terrific local organizations:

8th Street Community

8th Street Community is a non-profit dedicated to providing housing and quality of life improvements for adults with disabilities.

All donations help offset the costs of full-care service and improve housing conditions. You can provide monetary contributions or physical items found on their Amazon wish list.

Also, you can donate at their upcoming Christmas on Eighth community event, which will include food truck, a petting zoo and more to help support their mission.

Arts Huntsville

Arts Huntsville is a non-profit aimed at advancing the arts in Huntsville by engaging local audiences in community events.

You can donate funds to these events or even volunteer your time at some of Huntsville’s premier events such as Panoply.

HudsonAlpha

Huntsville Hospital Foundation

The Huntsville Hospital Foundation engages in some of Huntsville’s most crucial philanthropic endeavors by improving medical technology and patient experiences in Huntsville.

This GivingTuesday, the foundation is asking for donations to purchase new blood warmers and improve pre-hospital care for trauma patients.

Huntsville Museum of Art
