A new spot is coming soon for the Madison community to gather. The Madison City Council recently approved plans for a community center. Read on to learn what will be included in this building.
A new community center for the City of Madison
The City of Madison has something exciting coming to town. The plans for a community center at the former Three Springs facility were recently passed by Madison City Council. The project will take 18 months to complete renovations.
What will be in the community center?
The community center is intentionally designed to be used by everyone in the community. This includes spaces made for seniors and the special needs community. Areas of the community center include:
- Ceramics and woodworking rooms
- Courtyard with picnic tables
- Game room
- Garden space
- Gym designed for wheelchair basketball
- Meeting rooms for clubs and organizations like Meals on Wheels, Wellstone, The American Legion and The National Children’s Advocacy Center
The community center is on 30 acres of land. There are also plans to include archery, walking trails and more green space.
