A taste of Italy comes to North Alabama—a new vineyard is open

From Italy to Alabama, La Famiglia Vineyards & Winery opened its doors earlier this summer. This micro-farm winery is owned by husband-and-wife duo Tom and Bev, who are continuing their family legacy of winemaking that started in Northern Italy.

Here’s what you need to know about La Famiglia

Both owners bring a wealth of experience to their craft: Bev studied winemaking, while Tom has over 45 years of experience in the wine industry. With their combined expertise, it’s clear they know how to produce high-quality wines.

La Famiglia grows both native American and European grape varieties to cater to all wine enthusiasts.

Their profile of wines includes:

  • Five dry red wines:
    • Crimson Cabernet
    • Norton
    • Super Texan
    • Professore Zehnder
    • Sasso Rosso
  • Five dry white wines:
    • Villard Blanc
    • Doré
    • Traminett
    • Verdelet
    • Chardonel
  • Seven specialty sweet wines:
    • Vigna Colada
    • Black Velvet
    • Bama Berry
    • San Valentino
    • Fico (Fig)
    • Autunno
    • Speranza

They recently announced, per their Instagram, that they are now offering an “Adopt a Vine” program. By doing so, you will receive the following things:

  • A personalized certificate of adoption
  • The exact location of your vine
  • An exclusive invitation to the release event of the wine produced from your vine
  • A celebration party, including a complimentary bottle of wine from your adopted vineyard
