AAMU’s Hudson-Davis named SWAC Defensive Player of the Week

Alabama A&M University defensive back Jeremiah Hudson-Davis was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Football Defensive Player of the Week after the Bulldogs’ 30-3 victory over Tennessee State Saturday night at Louis Crews Stadium.
Hudson-Davis finished with 12 tackles and an interception as Alabama A&M held Tennessee State to just three points and 251 yards of total offense.

Hudson-Davis leads AAMU defense in 30-3 win
Hudson-Davis delivered one of the game’s biggest defensive plays during the opening quarter. With Tennessee State driving to the Alabama A&M 30-yard line, Hudson-Davis intercepted quarterback Daylin Lee and returned possession to the Bulldogs.
Alabama A&M immediately capitalized on the turnover as QB Cornelious Brown IV connected with Jarel Williams for a 61-yard touchdown, giving the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead—a lead they would keep for the rest of the game.
The interception was Hudson-Davis’ first of the season and helped Alabama A&M force three Tennessee State turnovers. The Tigers entered the contest without committing a turnover through their first two games.
Through three games, Hudson-Davis leads Alabama A&M with 35 tackles, including 10 solo stops. The redshirt senior has also registered two tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, two pass breakups and two quarterback hurries.
Alabama A&M is at home again this Saturday hosting Bowie State at Louis Crews Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6PM.
