Alabama A&M mourns loss of long time professor and scientist

Alabama A&M and the agricultural community is mourning the loss of long term educator and scientist, Dr. Ernst Cebert, who contributed to the university for nearly the past 3 decades.
Dr. Cebert was a research associate professor and manager of the Winfred Thomas Agricultural Research Station (WTARS).
A memorial service is planned for Sunday, April 12, at 11AM at First Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Dr. Ernst Cebert’s contributions to Alabama A&M + agriculture

Dr. Ernst Cebert was born in Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, before evntually moving to the US and serving in the Airforce as a weather specialist.
He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Alabama A&M, where he studied plant and soil science.
At A&M, he was essential in the expansion of the universities’ bioenergy and industrial crops programs. Cebert was also the manager of WTARS, which is working research farm associated with A&M that conducts agricultural and environmental research.
Perhaps most importantly, he was a caring professor who touched the hearts of so many over the course of his life. His peers recall his kindness, humilty and commitment to others.
Dr. Cebert dedicated his life to research and helping others, and Alabama A&M and the agricultural community is mourning his loss.
