Alabama A&M’s women’s basketball team defeated Mississippi Valley State over the weekend to extend the Bulldogs’ winning streak to 12 games.
The 40-point win (95-55) over MVSU avenged AAMU’s only conference loss of the season and established the longest winning streak for the Bulldogs in their NCAA Division I era.
Historic winning streak for AAMU

The winning streak brings AAMU’s record to 16-9 overall and 12-1 in SWAC play.
Some cool stats to consider on AAMU’s streak include:
- Alabama A&M’s average margin of victory during the streak is 18.4 point per game.
- 5 wins were by more than 25 points
- 3 Bulldogs are averaging more than 10 points per game (Kalia Walker, Moses Davenport and Coriah Beck)
AAMU plays two games in Florida this week, against Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M, before closing out the regular season with three home games against Alabama State, Grambling State and Southern.
Huntsville seems to be a hotbed for women’s basketball talent, as the University of Alabama in Huntsville’s women’s team enjoyed a 17-game winning streak this season, a streak that came to an end January 29.
