Alabama A&M will open its 2024 football season facing an in-state opponent on the road — and it’s not Tuskegee, Jacksonville State or Alabama State. The Bulldogs will open the season against Auburn, who released their new season schedule this week in the revamped SEC.

This will be the third time A&M has faced the Tigers, and the Bulldogs would probably like to forget the previous two meetings:

The game between Alabama A&M and Auburn will be Aug. 31 at a kickoff time yet to be determined.

This coming year won’t be the first time the Bulldogs have faced the Tigers. The last time AAMU played Auburn was in 2016 and the Tigers whipped A&M 55-0.

The only other meeting between the two Alabama programs was a 51-7 win by Auburn in 2012.

The financial agreement between AU and A&M has not been released, but A&M should get a decent payday from the game, as they always do when facing FBS opponents.

Alabama A&M has played FBS teams 16 times in their history, and has yet to come away with a win. AAMU’s last game against an FBS opponent was in 2022 against UAB, a game the Bulldogs lost 59-0.

AAMU has not released its full 2024 schedule, but we do know that the Bulldogs will play Austin-Peay Sept. 21.
