Alabama’s best grilled cheese sandwich? New poll says it’s at Melt

While a grilled cheese sandwich might seemingly be one of the simplest meals you can find, it it also perhaps the most popular lunch item in the country. And, there are several different spins on the traditional “home-from-school-for-lunch” meal.
That’s where Melt comes in. A national culinary publication, TastingTable, recently published its list, “The Best Grilled Cheese Sandwich in Every State,” and Melt (with two locations in the Huntsville metro) was named top in Alabama.

Melt has best grilled cheese in Alabama
TastingTable gathered customer reviews from websites like Reddit, Facebook, Tripadvisor, and Yelp to curate this list. Only restaurants that regularly offer grilled cheese sandwiches with consistently positive reviews were eligible.

Melt was recognized as serving up the best grilled cheese sandwich in the state, and that was just for the restaurant’s classic grilled cheese (the restaurant offers numerous spins on the classic sandwich, including one with mac and cheese inside).
As TastingTable says, “With a name like Melt, how could this restaurant not excel in grilled cheeses?”
Melt has two Huntsville-area locations:
Both locations are open Monday-Thursday 10:30AM-9PM; Friday and Saturday 10:30AM-10PM; and Sunday 10:30AM-8PM.
