Amazon is planning to expand its presence in Alabama with a new, one million-square-foot fulfillment center that could bring 500 new jobs to Huntsville. The company announced their plans and more details about the project on Tuesday, May 18.

A New Amazon Facility for Huntsville

It’s an exciting day for Huntsville. Amazon has announced their plans to build an enormous, state-of-the-art fulfillment center in Limestone County, just outside of Huntsville. Located near the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing US facility in Greenbrier, the upcoming Amazon fulfillment center will bring upwards of 500 new jobs to the region when it begins production this fall.

“We’re excited to launch operations at our new fulfillment center in Huntsville this fall. The new fulfillment center will create more than 500 new, full-time jobs with industry-leading pay and comprehensive benefits starting the first day on the job.

In this state of the art, one million square-foot fulfillment center, Amazon employees will pick, pack and ship bulky or larger-sized customer items such as patio furniture, outdoor equipment, or rugs.”
