The Arcadia + 11 more upcoming Huntsville area construction projects
Let’s face it. Huntsville is booming, and that is apparent in the latest construction permits awarded to contractors in Alabama, where a dozen of the 28 new multi-million-dollar permits are for projects in Madison County.
The list is highlighted by The Acadia, a new mixed-use development coming to Huntsville’s Cummings Research Park. Take a look at some more Huntsville area construction projects:
Development in North Alabama
Thanks to our friends at Southern Exposure Information, we’ve got the list of all new million-dollar-plus construction permits approved in Alabama last week. Each week, they pull together information from building permits to get all the details on these projects. You can get access to all of their construction permits right here.
Located on the corner of Bradford and Wynn Drive in the heart of Cummings Research Park, The Arcadia will be located on one of the busiest corners in the city and will be right across the street from the new Alabama School of Cyber Technology.Â
Once complete (sometime in 2024), floors 2-5 of The Arcadia will contain 231 residential units, while the first floor will offer:
- 17,350 square-feet of commercial ground floor space.
- 11,575 square-feet of coworking/office space and retail space.
- 5,775 square-feet of restaurant/retail space.

If you look at the map of the rest of the projects in the state receiving permits recently (compliments of my colleague Nathan Watson at Bama Buzz), you’ll see that the majority of the latest permits are for projects in North Alabama.
