Meet Athens Main Street’s amazing Thursday Night Talent finalists

Athens Main Street’s newest event, Thursday Night Talent, drew a nice crowd of music fans this week as 13 contestants performed in the first round of the talent contest.
Six finalists emerged, including a “People’s Choice” contestant, to go on to the final round on October 26. Here’s who is left in the competition:
Thursday Night Talent finalists
Six judges from across the community chose five winners among the original 13 contestants, with the audience choosing the sixth and final contestant, with the six finalists to compete in October for a top prize of $1,000.
The top six chosen to perform on October 26, 2023, at the Thursday Night Talent Finals (in no particular order) are:
- AJ Simmons
- Devin Simmons
- Jennifer Simmons
- Zami Maré
- Kaylee Jordan
- Katie Call (People’s Choice)
Athens has talent
The Thursday Night Talent event has been a huge success, and it is a free event with talented local musicians and a whole lot more to enjoy — food trucks are on hand and shops and local restaurants stay open later than usual.
“These events bring patrons from the entire North Alabama region to experience our downtown and all it has to offer,” Richardson said. “Our historic downtown has great shopping, dining, and fun family events like Thursday Night Talent.
