A popular cocktail bar based in Birmingham (and a James Beard Award finalist) is opening a Huntsville location. Adiõs Cocktail Bar will open soon at The Lumberyard downtown.

Inspired by Mexico City bars, Adios pays tribute to traditional Mexican cocktails with unique spirits and authentic recipes.

What to know about Adiõs

Adiõs is the brainchild of two hospitality industry veterans, José Medina Camacho and Jesús Méndez. Both born in Mexico, Camacho and Méndez immigrated to Alabama in the early ’90s and made their mark on Birmingham’s food and beverage scene.

Guests at Adiõs can expect craft cocktails such as:

  • The Amour a la Mexicana with Cognac
  • Cynar, Mexican coffee-cola syrup and whole egg
  • The Diamonds in the Rough with Old Forester 100 proof Dom house mix and lime
  • The Fo-Swizzle with Cappelletti, strawberry, rhubarb, lime, orange, Angostura, salt and mint
  • Thirteen Heaven with Joven Mezcal, Pasubio, blueberry, Epazote, lime and tonic

“Our goal is to introduce new ingredients and flavors to guests while welcoming them into a place that immediately feels like home. Hospitality and caring for others is at the root of everything we do, so we want this to be a space for people to celebrate, grieve, meet new friends or just sit at the bar and tell us about their day.”

Jesús Méndez, Co-Founder & Managing Partner, Adiõs

The new bar will open in late spring or early summer.
